I have experienced (suspected) norovirus twice, unfortunately, a couple of years apart.

The pattern of symptoms was very similar in both cases, appearing at about 1am in the morning - I woke up to terrible nausea, followed by vomiting etc.

Both times I had eaten out that day at lunchtime - the first was at an outdoor festival. I was hospitalised for dehydration the next day, I could not keep down water. Pretty awful.

The second time, I'd eaten a salad at a cafe. Luckily it was a milder case.
